FAQs

Counsellor for adults in Coventry, Canley, Kenilworth and online across UK

I specialise in providing individual therapy to adults (aged 18 and over). My practice is focused on helping people navigate a wide range of everyday challenges, including stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions, and cultural identity adjustments.

Working online removes the geographical barriers and logistical stress that often come with traditional face-to-face therapy. It allows me to offer immediate, highly flexible appointments without requiring you to commute, park, or travel to a physical office. It also allows me to connect with clients who specifically need a dual-language therapist but live in areas where those services are unavailable locally.

Privacy is essential for effective therapy. If you are concerned about being overheard by family members or housemates, I recommend finding a quiet room where you can close the door completely. Many clients find that wearing a pair of headphones adds an extra layer of security, making it much harder for anyone else to hear our conversation. Alternatively, some people choose to log into our secure sessions from a parked car or an empty office space where they feel completely comfortable speaking openly.

I am completely fluent in both English and Cantonese. You do not need to lock yourself into using just one language when you book. You have full flexibility to speak in whichever language makes it easiest for you to express complex thoughts and emotions from one moment to the next, switching between them naturally whenever you need to.

I tailor my approach to what you need. Person-Centred therapy is a warm, non-directive style where you lead the conversation to understand your feelings. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is more structured and action-oriented, focusing on changing negative thinking patterns. Integrative therapy is a mix of both, blending talk therapy with practical coping tools depending on what helps you most.

Not at all. Therapy is completely flexible and runs at your own pace. Some clients come with a specific issue and find that a short-term block of sessions gives them the tools they need to move forward. Others prefer open-ended, long-term support to explore deeper patterns. We will review our progress regularly, and you can conclude therapy when you feel ready.

Yes, absolutely. The secure platform I use works perfectly on any smartphone, tablet, or laptop. As long as your device has a working camera, a stable internet connection, and a microphone, you can connect to our virtual therapy room seamlessly.

The process is very straightforward. We always start with a free, brief introductory phone call. This gives us a chance to chat informally about what you are experiencing, let you ask any questions about how I work, and ensure I am the right counsellor to support you. From there, we can schedule your first official 50-minute online session.
